A SECRET AFFAIR WITH GOA

It was a connection flight to Mumbai and then to Goa. Since I was travelling through the domestic terminal, I couldn't see the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai,  which is one of the best airports in India. My friends were coming from Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. We were planning this trip for a very long time and finally we could make it.

It took 2 hours to reach the Oyo apartment as the airport is in the center and we wanted to explore the north goa, so we stayed over there. The place we took and the apartment where we stayed was amazing.  It's really easy to rent a bike in Goa, you don't have to show a license, simply give your Aadhar card and the bike is yours. Our plan started from the very next day as this day went on traveling and setting up everything. Early morning itself, we rented 3 scotties and started our journey. We got into a cafe nearby to have breakfast which was very average. Then we headed straight to the San Francis Xavier Church, which is 400 years old. One of the interesting fact is that St Francis Xavier died on his trip to China and was buried there. Later, according to his wish, his body was brought back to goa and it was then discovered that the body was still intact. This place is a must see if you are traveling to Goa. Goa is filled with beaches, so on our way we ended up in Miramar beach. Nothing big was happening there. We made many stops in between, sometimes for snacks or it will be raining. We headed straight to Baga Beach. This is one of the most happening beaches in North Goa. Perfect for nightlife, beach parties, drinking and dancing and also well known for their seafood. We spent most of our time over there and then left directly home.

Our next day started with a morning swim in the apartment itself. We were searching for a good place to have lunch. KOKNI KANTEEN. Note it down guys. Go to this restaurant if you are in Goa and order only Seafood. Very affordable and truly delicious. Then we left to Chapora Fort. Otherwise known as "Dil Chahta Hai" Fort. This fort is located in a height, so we had to walk for 5-10 mins. It offers a breath taking view of the sea on one side and city on the other side. Great spot to click pictures and to have photo shoot. There was a lot of street food near to it and we had chai and maggi  and it was really tasty. On our way back home, we went into a small store where they sell all these fancy clothes. Quality wise, its average, but comparatively good because it was cheap. We bought 'Om' T-shirts, Superman and Jack Daniel Trousers, slippers and other fancy tops. We got caught many times by the police, and honestly you can settle them by paying whatever you got. They have no interest to put you inside the jail. Maybe no helmet, no license or triples, they will stop you and try to find some fault and if not you can leave, otherwise maybe you have to pay around Rs.500. The rest of the night we chilled at the apartment itself.

We got up late the next morning and immediately left for brunch to Route 66. This place has a beautiful bar and rusty interiors.  Amazing paintings on the wall.  A truly awesome place to have a filling burger, the one that lets you burrrp! Our bike journey was amazing, we used to keep on going, a stop for nature love and food, or the police might have stopped us. Next we head to Anjuna beach. Chilled, smoked Sheesha, took pictures and left home. We din't do much on the last day.

The next morning we were busy packing stuff, giving back our rented bikes and clearing all the formalities of the apartment. From the attractive beaches to the famous shacks, from delicious Goan cuisine to fashion streets, North Goa has got a hang of everything.  If you like a fast pace and plenty of things to do, this is the place.
